Year 2 Trip – Clifton Country Park

Year 2 visited Clifton Country park to enhance their learning of ‘animals and their habitats’ which they have been learning about in science. They walked through the park listening out for different animals and looking at some of the habitats e.g. birds nest, under a stone. They then arrived at the pond where they completed pond dipping and used nets to fish out some of the wildlife from the pond. They found fish, tadpoles and insects. They also saw a frog and talked about the frogs habitat. After this they went back into the woods where they completed a mini-beast hunt with a partner. When they found a mini-beast they looked on their chart to see what the creature was called. They then had lunch and ended the morning with a play on the park.
