On Thursday 9th February, the choir went to the Young Voices concert at the MEN arena.
There had been months of practice preparing for the event and the children were extremely excited to perform in such a large arena. We arrived at lunch time to find that we had great seats, right next to the stage. The rehearsal lasted all afternoon but there was never chance to get bored, with performances from the Beatbox Collective and Urban Strides (Street dance crew) as well as a chance to Mexican wave with 8,900 children!! After a short break to refuel, the audience of friends and parents started to take their seats and the excitement started to build.
At 7pm, the concert got underway and I think it’s safe to say it was a real success. The choir performed many different songs including a pop medley, rock medley and a collection of songs from around the British Isles, including one in Welsh. The children particularly enjoyed seeing their parents have to get up and dance along with the street dancers! Although it was a long day everyone who performed and watched had a great time.
Well done Mossfield choir!
